Bolda Display is a a-z lowercase display font in two styles; regular and outline. Lowercase is regular and uppercase is outline. Inspired by the 1970s tennis, dart and ping pong fashion. Perfect for headlines, logos and everything above the body.
Bold Bavarian is a heavy version of my Royal Bavarian that was commissioned by King Ludwig 1st of Bavaria about 1834.
I always thought, that I should design a really bold version and now finally I did. But I think it should not be mixed together with the normal version.

Much of my inspiration comes from imagery and style that technology has rendered obsolete. I treasure anachronistic artifacts of packaging and design which have somehow evaded obliteration by focus groups, and manage to still be a part of our visual landscape.
I am particularly taken with the packaging for A&P coffee brands Eight O'Clock, Red Circle and Bokar whose eccentric yet elegant typography harkens back to an earlier, less complicated era. The font Bokar is my nod of appreciation to those robust and full-bodied blends spared from the bland, tasteless scourge of corporate branding.
