“Drawing letters is my passion,†says Erik Faulhaber, the designer of the Xenois typeface family. Pronounced “zeeno-is,†the design distills character shapes into what Faulhaber believes are their purest forms.
“I studied many typefaces, carefully examining their structure, before I began drawing Xenois. Then I actually wrote out a detailed design brief establishing the goals for my design.â€

family of 2 fonts from John Vargas Beltrán
The aim of this typeface is to merge two historical moments in the form and style of writing, on the one hand calligraphy uncial, and Roman serif was established as a universal standard for type fonts continuous text at the time. Is intended in terms of their functionality as a font for titles. The family includes some extended range glyphs as several Caps swashes and stylish alternatives for upper and lower case, standard and discretional ligatures, old numerals and other OpenType features.

A set of vintage wood type printing blocks yielded the alphabet which was to become Chamfer Serif JNL. With its heavy vertical serifs and interesting character shapes, the design is unique when compared to the more familiar wood type offerings of the past.

Display Black Serif has an uppercase alphabet located under the character + shift keys and a complete set of alternate uppercase characters located under the character set keys.
